Welcome to SolarAudit ("we," "our," or "us"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal information that is received and collected by SolarAudit and how it is used. By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

02. Amazon Affiliate Disclosure

SolarAudit is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.in and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This means that if you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps keep our calculator and guides completely free.

03. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on SolarAudit.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings website. Alternatively, you can opt-out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

04. Log Files and Analytics

Like many other websites, SolarAudit makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

05. User Data and Lead Information

  • If you voluntarily provide information (such as your name, phone number, and electricity bill details) through our Lead generation forms, we collect this data strictly to connect you with verified local solar installers.
  • We do not sell your personal contact information to third-party data brokers.
  • Your data is only shared with trusted solar EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction companies) for the sole purpose of providing you with solar installation quotes.

06. Third-Party Privacy Policies

SolarAudit's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options. You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options.

07. GDPR Data Protection Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). SolarAudit aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

  • Right of access — You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification — You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
  • Right to erasure — You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • Right to restrict processing — You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • Right to data portability — You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

08. CCPA Privacy Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California consumers have the right to:

  • Request that a business that collects a consumer's personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data collected.
  • Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
  • Request that a business that sells a consumer's personal data, not sell the consumer's personal data.

09. Children's Privacy

SolarAudit does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best to promptly remove such information from our records. Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 13.

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and as described in this Privacy Policy. We will also retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.

  • Contact form submissions: Retained for 12 months, then permanently deleted.
  • Calculator usage data: Anonymised and aggregated. No personal data is retained from calculator use.
  • Cookie consent preferences: Stored locally in your browser. We do not store these on our servers.
  • Analytics data: Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months as per Google's default retention policy.
